WEATHER in MALTA

Climare in Malta is strongly influenced by the sea and typically mediterrenean. The very sunny climate let await you an average sunshine of 5 to 6 hours in winter and 12 hours in summer.

Winters are mild with short cold periodes. Summers are hot and dry and very sunny. Summerly high temperatures are acompanied by a nice seabreezes, spring and autum hot winds from Africa might bringunexpected high temperatures and high humidity - this is the Shirokko, in maltese language also called Xlokk.

The yearly amount of rainfall is low, in average 578 mmand the dry season is longer than on the mainland of Italy. To go for a swim into the sea is possible until the winter month and the beach season might take until mid of october.
